Question of Sevens

It is once again time for the world-wide – galaxy-wide?! – festival of brews! With all comers welcome to showcase their best ale, mead, wine, applejack, brandy … whatever, if it’s fermented, it can be entered! – the only question is… why is there a pair of boots in the barrel?

Kickstarters of Note

Hello, fellow Portalites! I’m back again with a bunch of Kickstarters you all might find interesting!
We have some map-generation tools, descriptive aids; useful for GMs, players /and/ budding authors, and some terrain that might be useful to the gamers amongst us who are lucky enough to have local groups they play with.

GM’s Tip of the Week

I seem to be doing a lot of callbacks to old posts lately, but new information does come up, and I’m always willing to re-examine old data, in the light of new discoveries, to see if a thing still works, or needs to be turned over and rebuilt.

Question of Sevens

Traditions in this town are odd; surely one escaped prisoner isn’t such a big deal… is it?

GM’s Tip of the Week

We got to talking a bit about CR – that’s Challenge Rating – a bit in Discord the other day; Demagor, Andi and I. CR is not really a useful measure of how dangerous a given opponent might be, though. Question of Sevens

The cave system has never been well-explored, so finding that it contained ruins was not so much of a surprise as it might have been. But the axe.. that was a moment of luck…

GM’s Tip of the Week

Hello, fellow Portalites!
So, last week I talked a little bit about including the full spectrum of sexuality and gender representation, writing people, writing real people. This week I’m going to talk about the subject that frequently reduces every one of us to giggling teenagers… which is fine, I’d rather touch the subject with humour than with judgment and unpleasantness.

Question of Sevens

When first sighted, the bottle is tiny; just a little spot of green in the vast ocean. Nearer .. and nearer, and nearer it becomes clear; this is no mere bottle, but a tiny ecosystem encased in glass…

GM’s Tip of the Week

This is not intended as a political post, despite being a possible trigger; just bear that in mind while discussing it on the Portal. I was at a bit of a loss what to talk about, but.. it is Pride month. I have friends who are celebrating, there are rainbows all over the place, and I’m right there with them and I suspect there are GMs and players who are trying to figure out how to – if you will pardon the expression – be more inclusive.

GM’s Tip of the Week

This week’s tip might be focused on Players, but it’s good for us GMs to remember too! Demagor is our guest blogger this week, remember to thank him for taking the time to write it.
