Kickstarters of Note

Hello, fellow Portalites!

Welcome to another edition of Kickstarters of note, wherein I enable you guys. A lot. Or just tempt you, I’m good either way. I’ve got some systems, some GM tools and some miniatures, and it’s all very shiny, and I hope you have time to take a look at it.

Bob Naismith Presents: Overrunners – 28MM Heroic Sci-fi resin figures

While this doesn’t match the Starfinder asthetic very well, they could be useful for other sci-fi settings; and the vehicles look very useful. As the creator says, “Hi there! My name is Bob Naismith. This Kickstarter is about the Overrunners – a range of 28-30  mm Resin sci fi soldiers and their vehicles. They can find a place on your gaming table or  collectors shelf anytime as either the good guys or the bad guys! I have been working as a  freelance sculptor mainly in the Sci fi and Fantasy wargaming business for more than thirty five  years. It’s likely that you may have some of my work in your collection already even if you don’t  know it! Having really enjoyed working with world class manufacturers on an ongoing basis I  wanted to release some of my own designs for sci fi into our market. I have seen what the  Kickstarter community can do for new projects and have now decided that its time for me to  bring my own dreams to life with your help – My plan is that if this Kickstarter is successful then  I’ll be making more ranges of figures that expand upon this first set – so keep watching!”

Tim Rodrigeuz Presents: Backstory Cards, Volume 2

If I’m the only one who has trouble writing character backstories or, better yet coming up with reasons for an often wildly varied group to be working together, I would be very surprised. These might be of use if you’re in the same boat as I am, and the prices are decent for a full set.

Silver Games LLC Presents: Ponyfinder – From the Ashes

So, I’m sure we have a few bronies and pegasisters reading this, and for all I know, you guys may be wondering where the heck I’ve been that I only just noticed this… and the rest of you might be wondering why I’m mentioning it at all.
Simple. Whether brightly-coloured cartoon ponies are your thing or not, Ponyfinder gives you rules and functional setups for playing quadrupedal characters; this may be useful, and more than useful, for those building homebrew campaigns that may involve dragons, or other sapient quadrupeds.

Ulisses Spiele Presents: TORG Eternity – The Living Land

I don’t know much about TORG, to be honest. But Ulisses Spiele has been turning out useful, interesting books for a while now, and I don’t expect that to stop with this latest offering. It’s definitely interesting, even if I can’t find much to say about it other than that it looks interesting. Maybe someone with some TORG experience would be willing to enlighten us?

Gamers Tool Kit Presents: Quick Plots RPG Cards

I talk some about being prepared, or using modules, but if you have a reason to not do the latter, and you’re bad at the former, these might help. They certainly look like they might be nice, although the bleed on their sample images makes me twitch a bit, I fully expect the real thing to be better. And more readable, as they do talk about using a different font.

Bossfight Studio Presents: Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S, 1:18 scale Articulated Horses
Ahh.. right, so, for the artists out there who don’t have a horse handy to draw from, these might help. And they have pegasi… I’m sold, I want some. I get the impression the intent is not for artist models, so you might have to pry them away from your horse-crazy kids a few times, but this, “We believe that action figures are meant to be played with. If it doesn’t move, then it’s a statue. That’s why Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures are designed with poseability as a priority. Why have a horse if it can’t be played with and posed just as dynamically as your figures?” is true for models as much as it is for toys.
